Competition in Advancing Technologies and Digital Energy

Digital Energy Asia Summit 2023 (DEAS2023) – a premier event for exploring how technologies and digital can help us build a more sustainable and resilient energy industry. The summit will be held on the 7th & 8th of June 2023 in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre organised by Ezra and Macquarie, supported by Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, ARC Group, IEEE Malaysia Chapter, Institute of Chemical Engineers, MOGSC and with the presence of PETRONAS and Malaysia’s leading industry players. As the energy sector continues to evolve, DEAS 2023 will bring together industry experts, stakeholders, and decision-makers to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities to enhance industry resiliency in safety, reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.

In conjunction with DEAS 2023, “Postgraduate Industry Based Research Competition in Advancing Digital Energy Technology” program is organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Centre of Electrical Energy Systems (UTM-CEES), and co-organised by IEEE Power and Energy Society (IEEE PES) Malaysia Chapter & IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (IEEE TEMS) Malaysia Chapter, sponsored by Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia & Ezra & Macquarie Group. The competition will provide a platform for postgraduate students to showcase their research in technology and digital as well as to promote collaboration between academia and industry.

By participating in the competition, postgraduate students will have the opportunity to:

Showcase their research to a diverse audience of industry experts and receive feedback and constructive criticism on their work from the experts in the field.

Interact with industry experts and stakeholders, understand their needs and challenges, and identify opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Build their academic and professional profiles by highlighting their research and achievements.

All participants will receive certificates of participation from organizer. The top 15 winners will be awarded cash prizes, invited to attend DEAS2023 (USD300 entrance fee) and RM200 in cash for transport and poster printing.

RM600 for 4 Special Awards

RM500 for 10 Finalists

Online presentation: 1st & 2nd June 2023

Notification of Finalist: 3rd June 2023

Exhibition & Award Ceremony: 7th & 8th June 2023.
