Sharul A. Rashid is PETRONAS Group Technical Authority and Custodian Engineer, Instrument and Control. He is currently Head of Technical Excellence, Group Technical Solutions. He is the President of International Society of Automation (ISA), Malaysia Section and Advisory Board member of ISAGCA (Global Cyber Security Alliance). He had been recently re-elected as Co-Chair Certification Work Group, Open Process Automation Forum. He is Vice-Chair IOGP IASSC (Instrument Automation Standards Subcommittee), Vice-Chair Digital Connected Society (Malaysia). Additionally, he is voting member for NSC 19 / TC 15 for Smart Manufacturing and nominated expert in IEC Syc SM. He recently had joined as End-User Member ISA100 wireless Compliance Institute.
Professor Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail FASc
Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail is the Immediate Past President of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and National Science, Technology and Innovation Advisor. She is currently the Ibnu Sina Chair for Medicine at IIUM and the Consultative and Anti-Corruption Panel for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail holds a BSc (Biology) from the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, M.A. (Microbiology) from Indiana University, USA and a Ph.D (Cellular and Molecular Biology) from University of Nevada, Reno, USA. She also received her Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Glasgow, Honorary Degree Doctor of the University, Keele University and Honorary Doctorate in Literature from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS).
Besides being the first female Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail is also Malaysia’s first female Director-General of Higher Education, first female President of Academy of Sciences Malaysia, first female to be appointed as the Chairperson of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the first woman to be the National Science Advisor to the country. In addition, she was elected to the Academy of Sciences Malaysia in 2003, The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) in 2010, The Islamic World Academy of Sciences in 2016, and was elected as an Honorary Member of the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences in 2017.
Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail’s contribution to higher education and science development ecosystem are internationally recognised. She has initiated scientific discoveries which have led to the attainment of 16 patents that are commercialised worldwide, and the rapid diagnostic test for typhoid called TYPHIDOT, advocated by WHO. She had also obtained numerous awards and recognitions (more than 270) for her achievements at National and International levels. At the moment, she has shared her knowledge via more than 130 papers, more than 540 invited talks and more than 80 keynotes at national and global levels.
Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail has been elected as a member of several international boards including the Board of Governors for Commonwealth of Learning (COL) based in Vancouver, Canada, member of the Directing Board and Executive Committee for Islamic Citation Center based in Shiraz, Iran for the OIC, Member of the College of Fellows, Keele University and as a Governing Advisory Board Member for Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan. She has been appointed as Co-Chair, for the Inter Academy Partnership Board comprising of 158 science academies world-wide in 2022 and elected as a member of the International Science Council Standing Committee for Science Planning in 2022 and Chair of the membership for IAP.
At the national level she serves as a board member for CREST (Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology) Center to move STI based companies in the country since 2017, board member of IIUM Holdings Sdn. Bhd, member of the National Science Council chaired by the Prime Minister, High-Tech Nation Council chaired by the Minister of MOSTI (Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation), member of the National Action Council on Shared Prosperity Vision under the Distinguished Educator category and independent board of Trustee for Merdeka Award Trust.
She has also been a part of the selection panel for various international awards and recognitions such as TWAS membership (Medical and Health Sciences) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Prize for Women’s contribution to development. She was also part of the jury panel for the Merdeka Award, Rhodes Scholarship to select Malaysians to Oxford University, the Loreal Women in Science Award, the Anugerah Akademik Negara (National Academic Award), MOHE Entrepreneurial Award (MEA) and Best Managed Companies, Asia by Deloitte.
Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail was also awarded as “Tokoh Srikandi” National Award (Academic) in 2018, and “Tokoh Maulidul Rasul” (national level) in 2019, “Tokoh Akademik Negara “ or National Academic Laureate in 2022 and was named in Jan ,2023 by Forbes Asia magazine as among the 50 women over 50 from Asia Pacific that had reached new heights in contributing to the field of higher education, research and innovation as well as policy in the Science,Technology, Inovation and Economy locally and abroad and for inspiring the next generation
Prof. Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma binti Ismail’s contributions to Malaysia’s higher education system include the establishment of the prestigious National Academic Award (Anugerah Akademik Negara), the establishment of Research Universities in Malaysia and in developing and implementing The Malaysian Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2013 to 2025.

Riccardo Barbiellini is the Data and Digitalisation Manager for Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore based in Singapore. In his role he formulates partnerships and provides guidance to clients with a bespoke end-to-end service supporting them on their digitalisation journey. He is a leader focusing on new digital technologies and innovation, to help clients be safer, more efficient, environmentally friendly, and informed.
Riccardo has a diverse career with over ten years as an electrical engineer in the Royal Australian Air Force, and ten years in the energy and utilities sector leading programmes for construction, asset strategy, new technology and innovation. Riccardo has successfully led the adoption programmes for IoT networks, electric vehicle trials, and satellite hyperspectral imagery gathering.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, a Master of Science in Military Electronic Systems Engineering from Cranfield University, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with honours from the University of New South Wales.
Nur Fadillah Mior Sharifuddin

Nur Fadillah, or fondly known as Fad, has 22 years of broad-based experience in leadership, coaching, capability development, strategy, portfolio, commercial negotiations, petroleum economics, business, project planning and change management. She holds a BA Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham.
A unique trivia, she actually began her professional journey in PETRONAS Carigali performing a technical role of an Integrated Operations Planner, responsible for gas supple in Peninsula. Another technical role was as a Manager for Reserves & Portfolio where she produced hydrocarbon monetization plans for contingent and undeveloped resources. These demonstrated that one can cross from a business to a technical discipline if there is determination and opportunity,
Besides Malaysia, she had 2 overseas stints, working with multiple international partners in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. These provided her exposure to mitigate various socio-political risks.
Since assuming the current role as Head of Group Technical Capability Management in 2022, she is in the midst of facilitating PETRONAS to navigate through the energy transition via the following major enterprise transformation:
1. Talent Reshaping - setting a sufficient broad-based foundation knowledge for junior technical talents for them to have the ability as a systems thinker.
2. Just transition - preparing a flexible workforce that can adapt easily to the fast-changing world through upskilling in emerging, adaptive and green skills.

Naufal M. Saad holds a Master’s degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Limoges (ENSIL) in France, and received his Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication from the Université de Limoges (UNILIM) in 2005. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Electrical & Electronic Engineering department of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, and also core research member at UTP’s Centre for Intelligent Signal and Imaging Research (CISIR). His research interests include medical imaging, intelligent signal and communication and he has authored or co-authored more than 100 international publications. He is also currently leading UTP team in PETRONAS UTP 5G INNOVATION LAB project

Ir Dr M Zurix Mohamed is currently the Custodian of Instrument & Control, specialized in Measurement, under Group Technical Solutions (GTS), Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS). He is a recognized as a Professional Engineer by the Boards of Engineers Malaysia, Secretary for International Society of Automation (ISA), Official reviewer for IEC/SC 65A and member of Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council (MOGSC). He has 20 years of working experience in Refining Industry, in which he had completed his degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and completed his PhD in Engineering in 2021. He joined PETRONAS in 2003 and climbed up on technical path as Principal under Instrument & Control in 2017 and was then assigned to Custodian Measurement in 2023 to manage technical and governance related matters PETRONAS wide.

Ts Zulkifflee obtained his bachelor's degree from University of Newcastle, Australia in Mechanical Engineering and obtain his Master's in Engineering Management in 2012. He has more than 35 years working experiences in the field of manufacturing in the Automotive & Electronics industries and transportation. He is a certified Technologist which is certified by Malaysian Board of Technologist (MBOT). He has been with MIGHT for 16 years and involved in Strategic Industry and Technology development in the Automotive, Rail, Maritime Industry in Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (SBSR) industries and currently on the sustainable and smart cities initiatives. His role was mainly involved in advising the Government on the Strategic industry development planning and provide the government with the Blueprint as a reference document for policy and future planning in these areas. He has work in the rail industry strategic planning as part of the team in formulating the strategic plan of future rail 2030 roadmap.
He is involved in the sustainable cities program with INIDO name GEF 6. Global Environment Facilities (GEF) is a body based in US that received finds from developed countries for sustainable cities program. The project is under Global Platform for Sustainable Cities (GPSC) where it involves 28 cities and 11 countries globally. He is also leading in developing the Malaysia Smart City industry and technology data analysis and strategic plan and work closely in advising KPKT in the technology and industry for Smart City development at National level.

During his time at UTP, he founded a student society dedicated to fostering the spirit of volunteerism and giving back to the community. During this program, he underwent rigorous training and rotations to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business. His rotations included stints with the Project Management team of Sales Distributed, where he supported projects such as covering from steam and medium gas turbine outages and even Unit Health Assessments. He also gained international exposure through a rotation in Siemens Energy Thailand, where he supported the Medium Gas Tubine Spare Parts Business and attached to the Siemens Energy Turbomachinery Workshop in Rayong, Thailand.
